Virtual conference presentation done!

One program down one more to go. Kristin and I have worked with San Jose Public Library and Yolo County Public Library on design thinking in public libraries for a couple for a couple of years now which has resulted in us participating at a couple conferences - the largest being this years PLA. Not only were we asked to do a regular presentation but we were asked to do our presentation for their virtual conference. Sharon and Eric from San Jose totally reworked our presentation to fit the virtual environment. Nancy from San Jose and Sue from Yolo county also participated. I think we were all pretty nervous because this was our first time doing a virtual presentation. There were 80 libraries logged in for our presentation. I think we were apprehensive about the program based on interactivity prototyping and group work being presented virtually. Surprisingly many of the attendees participated by using the chat window and uploading images to Instagram in Imgur. Comments about the program were all positive. Hopefully our program tomorrow will go over as well as today did!

  1. We were definitely apprehensive about this one. But, we did have fantastic participation from our audience. The feedback was great. They all (at least those that commented in chat) had fun. The favorite part was planning the Star Wars & Star Trek (all generations) party (our Yes, and exercise).

  2. You are both rockstars! Amazing how you roll up to Denver and just start dropping mics on the internet and then live at PLA.
